Sobre esta atividade
Take some of your time to explore the Lagoon of Venice and experience it like a local. Discover the beauties hosted in two of its most marvellous islands: Murano and Burano.
You will leave the Venice area and cruise to the islands of San Giorgio Maggiore, San Servolo, San Lazzaro degli Armeni, Sant’Elena Gardens, and the Arsenal, before reaching Murano island, world famous for its glassblowing furnaces. Murano boasts a long and still thriving tradition dating back to 1291. That is when glass artisans moved their kilns from the old city center.
Exploring the island on foot, you will stop at a glass factory to watch a skilled glass blower create works of art. View the magnificent splendor of Murano’s palaces and veneto-byzantine style churches, some with mosaics and ornamental motifs designed in the 12th century. You will board your boat again then head toward Burano, a tiny island in northern lagoon of Venice.
Burano island is famous for its typical handmade laces and colorful houses. It's still common to see fishermen repairing their traditional nets in front of their little two-story houses. Streets are very narrow and each house has a different bright color to identify it by the fishermen from the outer lagoon.
Once you arrive back on land, you will be driven back to your hotel in Venice.
