For adventurous travelers, the best way to view the romantic gondola-filled waterways, bridges, and cafe-lined piazzas of Venice, is on the water, as you’ll see on this 45 minutes private kayak tour departing at 18, at 19 and at 20 from Central Venice. No kayaking experience is needed, just your sense of wonder, and a willingness to explore. Unfortunately, the tour is not wheelchair accessible or suitable for children younger than 4-years-old. Your guide will help you choose a pedal- or oar-powered kayak, and provide steering and stopping lessons. You’ll venture away from the crowds and well-known sites into backwater neighborhoods. Your tour will end in Central Venice where you can continue exploring the rich history of one of Italy’s most unique and magical cities.

This tour is a great alternative to a gondola ride. You will see plenty of gondolas along the way, and you'll cruise through essentially the same canals. The wake from passing boats will get you wet, so unless you bring a change of clothes, don't plan on going to dinner after this tour. The operators offer clothes changing facilities as well as dry storage containers for items you want to bring along in the kayaks. It was fun, and the guides were always on the lookout for our safety.
