This was a very enjoyable day with a private driver and guide. Very authentic and lunch with the organic farmer was truly a special event.
Otto and Nick were absolutely great! Itinerary was perfect, they explained everything! I’d do it again in a heartbeat!!
As someone accustomed to wine tasting with European-style wine makers, it was a truly unique experience to learn about ancient Georgian wine making methods. My friendly guide, Otto, was knowledgeable about all things Georgian, not just wine making, and Archie, the driver, kept me safe with excellent driving.
The guide arrived on time and properly introduced himself. During travel, we got acquainted to each other. He was courteous and drove safely. The tour was exactly as advertised and could have scored higher in our view if the guide would have explained a little better what would take place during the stops, we would have appreciated a little bit more leadership. For instance, when we stopped for the wine tasting, we did not know how it would work so we were left to our own devices to figure it out with the winery representative. In general I would recommend that tour with that company.
Talk about a wonderful experience!!! I highly recommend taking this tour! We were picked up on time in a comfortable air conditioned van and whisked away to wine country. Our first stop was at a side shop and were given fresh made bread, homemade cheese and homegrown tomatoes to try, delicious! Next, a stop in a little town that we were able to walk thru up to our first tasting of delicious wine! All our wine stops were amazing and informative. Our guide himself was a wealth of information, telling as a little about Tbilisi and the wines and any other question we threw at him. Plenty of food and wine were given to us at lunch time, we never felt like we didn't get enough. I had heard going on a wine tour was a thing to do and we were not disappointed! Thank you so much!!
A perfect Guide showed us in a fantastic way the Georgian hospitality in a way we never had before. Amazing
This tour was amazing!!! My wife and I are from South Africa so we had some expectations for good wine and good fun. This tour did not disappoint. We were able to see how wine is made in the traditional Georgian way which had no idea about before visiting Georgia. Tsotsne our guide was fantastic and knowledgeable in the wine making process and Georgian history. We were able to get to see everything the tour promised while at the same time we weren't rushed and were able to make some new friends who were also on tour with us. I would really recommend anyone who is thinking about a wine tour to consider this wine tour of the Kakheti region as we had such a great time.
It was a wonderful tour except for the weather... the fog in the mountains. overcast skies and occasional rain - all of that made the tour a bit gloomy, but the tour guide, the wine and the food were good! Suggest to take this tour during a warmer period of the year, I suppose the early fall would be the best. Be prepared thought that the surroundings in Kakheti region are not what you see in Napa Valley, the economics of the region is lot poorer and it feels - the roads are much worse, most of the houses are dilapidated, etc. However the people are very friendly and hospitable.
Very attentive detailed tour also flexibility for your preferences. Our guide Khkha was very knowledgeable and fun guy, make the whole tour as happy memorable experience. Thank you!
