Pavla made our trip very memorable. She was so easy to be around and she took such good care of our group. It was my husband’s birthday and she even arranged a special treat at lunch. The park is wonderful and so beautiful. The lunch was delicious! It was a great day.
Good tour with beautifvul scenery. Alittle tiring, because the slope is steep and hard to walk without using a stick. The tour guide is excellent.
I don’t normally do tours but I decided to do this one to save myself the headache of transportation. Wow! I’m so glad I did! The transportation was a breeze. They even had WiFi on the very comfortable van. I’d say the park is a must see if you are in Czech and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and understanding. I was traveling alone so she took pictures of me along the way which my mother will appreciate. I was also able to learn a lot about Czech culture in addition to the history of the park. This tour was totally worth the time and money!
Well organized by the agency the guide sarika was very friendly and helpful , it was a small group hence the bonding was very good and the location was excellent well preserved and a must for people who love hiking and need some adventure
Who were picked up on time by our awesome tour leader Sharka. She goes to an unbelievably beautiful hike along the River on the Bohemian side. And we had a very entertaining boat ride up the river... We couldn't understand a word the guide said, but we were laughing the whole way this is animation, smiles and harmonica!!! Within went to the German side where we were able to see some unbelievable rock formations in Bastei national Park.we saw the ruins of a castle that have been built in the most precarious place you could imagine. By far the best what's on guides consistent sharing of information about everywhere we went. Recommended highly!!!
The harder was 10 miles but didn't feel challenging at all! Absolutely incredible views and got a ton of information from Homza whose passion for nature and the outdoors shows. Everything was according to plan and we'll explained. I couldn't recommend this more. Thank you!
I recently took this guided hike with Northern Hikes and greatly enjoyed it. It's a great way to escape Prague for a day and see a lot of the great nature that's nearby. The paths are clearly marked and groomed with places to have food and drink at the top at the sandstone arch. Our guide, Zuzka was very knowledgeable not only about the park but with the area as well. The hike is long but not too strenuous. I highly recommend this trip with Northern Hikes and ask for Zuzka to be your guide!
The guide was a true professional that had a lot of knowledge and clearly loved nature. Highly recommended.
At the beginning we were a bit circumspect about this trip as this involved trekking and we are not the outdoor types (also travelling with parents and a toddler). However, this turned out to be the highlight of our central Europe trip this summer. Sarka, our guide, was one of the best tour guides we have traveled with in any of our trips. She was extremely accommodating, making sure that the trip was absolutely customized to how we wanted it to be. Since it was an early start, she was thoughtful enough to get breakfast boxes packed for each one of us ! By the end of it, she had become a part of our family. The trip itself was very nice and comprised two parts - a light trekking alongside a river followed by a boat ride and then a trip to the famous and very very pretty sandstone formations (this part is in Germany). We loved both of them. The trekking was light and relaxed, and even my parents did not find it tough at all. It was pristine and we really liked the boat ride (the boatman was funny too !). The next part was a trip to the Bastei bridge which was very pretty and nothing like what we have seen before. In summary, we highly recommend this daytrip by Northern Hikes - an unmissable experience. Thanks Sarka !!!
Had a little apprehension on the trek route and hence had chosen the easy one. At the end, it was one of the most beautiful scenic routes that we have been to. Through the trees, by the river, on the boat and up the hill - a splendid 3 hour walk followed by a delicious lunch. The next bit was even better with walking on the Bastei bridge and roaming around the stone edges - too high for me though. And to top it all, our guide Sarka made is the most jolly person that I have ever met, made it a memorable one. A must to do if you are in Prague.
My tour guide was Sarka Augustinova, and she was so fun and friendly. She helped us choose authentic food at the restaurant and helped all the hikers engage in conversation together. And the tour provided hiking sticks and backpacks. Plus the car we took had wifi on it. Overall, she was amazing, and for my first hike ever it was a very good experience.
I opted for the 15-km hike and am so glad I did! The hike itself is definitely for people who are fitter/regularly active because it is a long day, but there wasn't a lot of straight climbing some stairs, but the inclines were very gentle. Pravcicka brana was utterly stunning, and getting to walk through Bohemian National Park was really lovely beautiful scenery, and the sandstone is so cool. I was in a really nice group with three other hikers, and our guide Martin was the best -- friendly, kind and funny, and super knowledgeable about the park, the Bohemia region and the country. This day trip was the highlight of my time in Prague. :
This hike is definitely not for couch potatoes, it's a mildly strenuous hike (figure 15 miles) with some incline, but not anything terribly steep (more like lots of stairs). If you are reasonably fit this is the hike for you! Beautiful scenery abounds around every corner. Our guide Sarka was extremely fun and made the hike even more enjoyable being always quick to smile and laugh - like she is living her dream!
Safe to say that this was the highlight of the trip to Prague. Even though we did not have any hiking experience apart from some long walks, this was still a good choice. We were picked up from our hotel and then another stop at another hotel for 2 other travellers to join us. Even before we arrived, our guide gave us general information about Prague as well as about the National Park. Once we arrived, we started walking with a few stops here and there for more insights about the surroundings. Views and scenery were AMAZING ! Lunch was very good with traditional Czech food and beer. We also had a boat ride to get across to another part of the river. Our tour guide, Dalibor apart from being fluent in English, was very knowledgeable about the park, its history and plans for the future, as well as easy-going and with a good sense of humour which made the experience even better. Highly recommended !
