If you are Not using your car on a Europe Tour then This tour is highly recommended.... The Operator Grey Line are very efficient and reliable, the Tour Bus is very comfortable And the icing on these quality cakes is our Tour Guide Ms Lucy... She was very warm, energetic, professional, well informed, Well Spoken and a lovely human being. She is very beautiful... Thank You
A long but great day: great guide; modern coach; beautiful picturesque villages; a couple of hours in Salzburg to sit outside eating lunch and walking around the wonderful old streets; and, the finale, embark on a boat from a stunning little village to have our breaths taken away with wonderful lakeland views.
If you have a good mood everything looks great! Right? You ll hear some inderesting information about Munich, Salzburg and the round area during the road trip. But in Salzburg you are alone for about 2 hours, so it's better to have done a preparation of what you want to see in the town before going there because the time is very limited. I suggest to eat something from the street market. No time for a restaurant. From the Lake district I loved the beautiful village that we visited to take the boat tour but we only had about 20 minutes to see it. If it is possible I suggest that you go to both places by yourselves so that you will have all the time that you want to explore the beauties of each place.
Trip was too long. Bus trip to Salzburg with lady on board talking all the time. When we got to Salzburg we were on our own for 2 plus hours. Had to pay for Hop On Hop Off bus to get around in that time to even see anything. Then drove to Lake District and spent way too much time there, which included a boat ride arcross Wolfgangsee Lake. Pretty but not to be repeated. All and all felt like I just paid for a expensive bus trip.
The tour guide was very boring and irresponsible. She told us to meet in front of St.Wolfgang Church and we were there early. Our backs were turned away from the main path. She never called our attention and just quietly started walking away. If we did not turn around we would have been left behind. So, 2 older ladies got left behind and could not board the boat going to St. Gillien. I think her name was Christine.
We signed up for this tour assuming that we would be given a guided tour of Salzburg and the Lake District. The title also implied that it was a Sound of Music Tour. The guide read to us from a script (verbatim) on the drive to Salzburg, given a few suggestions as to places we could visit, and then dropped off for a couple of hours with a map to guide us. We were told of a couple of locations where the Sound of Music was filmed around town, but were not shown anything personally. If we wanted to do Salzburg on our own, we would've taken the train. The drive to the Lake District was very pretty, despite the rain. We were given 45 minutes to walk around a cute, very small town before boarding a boat. The boat trip was advertised as being optional, but it was not. The "guide" came around to collect 13 Euros per person on the drive to Salzburg; we were not given any other option other than paying up to ride the boat. I guess the Sound of Music part of the tour was the soundtrack to the movie being played over the loudspeaker during the boat ride. This was a very disappointing tour.
Amazing tour. Jacky was great. Plenty of free time. Salzburg and lake district are wonderful. Take the boat for Lake Woolfgang for it's paradise
We were only able to visit Salzburg and not the Lakes area because it took us so long to get to Salzburg because of traffic. The guide was great and we realize it wasn't her fault but it was disappointing to miss the lakes area.
