Sobre esta atividade
Mexico City is one of the most enjoyable destinations in the world. The historic centre, was declared as “World Heritage” by UNESCO, and is the heart of a living culture that exudes everything accumulated since the founding of Tenochtitlan by the Aztecs. Julià Travel proposes you a tour that allows you to enjoy the most emblematic places arround this wonderful city.
We will start de tour picking you up in your hotel at the agreed time. The first stop of the tour is at the Anthropology Museum, which harbors the most valuable archaeological collection of the Middle American cultures. One of its 23 rooms was dedicated to Mexica Culture and contains the famous stone of the sun or Aztec calendar. The Mayan room harbors the impressive trousseau of jade of Pakal Kin, king of Palenque, and in the Zapotec room you will find the most beautiful jewels in gold found in the tombs of Monte Alban, and Mitla.
At the entrance of the museum, and if weather allows it, you will be able to enjoy the spectacle of the famous flyers of Papanta, who perform an exhibition every hour.
Again in our transportation, we will take a panoramic tour along the most important and emblematic avenue of the city; the Paseo de la Reforma. In its arbors are located essential monuments of Mexico capital, as the Angel of the Independence (symbol of the city) or the beautiful fountain of Diana Cazadora, that coexists with several prominent buildings, including the Reforma Tower, the highest of the city, as well as others of financial and commercial interest.
When we arrive at the historic centre, we will left our transportation and we will start a walking tour, visiting the most emblematic places of this beautiful colonial city; as the majestic Palace of Fine Arts, which interior shows an extraordinary Art Deco decoration. We'll visit also the House of the Tiles, and Palacio de Correos.
Our tour will continue through the pedestrian street of Madero, one of the main access to the heart of the city, and where we can discover the daily hectic life of the capital city. We will make a stop at the street “5 de Mayo” to take a tasting of typical sweets in one of the oldest boutiques in the neighborhood. “Las alegrías” is the name of the favourite sweet for Mexican people, is prepared based on amaranth, a pre-Hispanic cereal of great value for the Aztecs. We will continue until the Zocalo Capitalino, considered as one of the biggest public squares in the world, and then, a panoramic visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral. We will see also the National Palace, as Hernán Cortés second private residence; this enclosure harbors the wonderful frescoes of the famous Mexican painter Diego Rivera. Our tour finishes at the end of this visit, when we will take you to your hotel.
