Our private tour of the Teotihuacan Pyramids was one of the more memorable days of our first trip to Mexico City. We were picked up on time at our hotel by our tour guide, Javier, who was friendly and effervescent and eager to share his knowledge, not only of the pyramids, but also of the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe and other parts of the city along our drives to and from the UNESCO site. In all, arranging the tour through Viator was easy and the communications from the tour operator were clear and helpful in contributing to an excellent tour experience.
The tour was excellent, in general. Could have done with less time in the souvenir area, but this is understandable. Santiago was an excellent guide, with a depth of knowledge that was astonishing. Manuel was an excellent, and careful driver in the chaotic traffic of Mexico City. What was shown of the Pyramids was sufficient to inspire awe in the teenagers in my group. Heartily recommend this tour to those who do not want a mass driven visit to an astounding pre-hispanic site.
We had an excellent, hassle free trip to Teotihuacan. Our guide Javier picked us punctually at 9 am from our hotel. The car was clean and comfortable.Javier was a superb guide and a virtual encyclopedia of information about the history of mesoAmerica and nicely explained the Pre Maya, the Maya and the Aztec civilizations in the proper time frames. We also learnt a lot about modern Mexico from him.We had a delicious lunch on our way back.We did not feel rushed at all.Highly recommended ,ask for Javier as your guide,if possible.
We have done this trip a few years ago with on a bus tour. We were back with my stepson this year, plus we got partially rained out on the first trip. Obviously, Teotihuacan is great a must see. No question about that. Comparing this tours - there are cheaper options for a 3 people to join a larger group. But the private tour made the whole day smooth and at our pace. The Zona Rosa was shutdown which complicated our pickup, but Javier handled it well. A great day and worth the premium for setting our own pace with a very comfortable ride.
This was a great day trip. My wife and I decided to take this tour of the Teotihuacan Pyramids a week before our trip and had no issues booking it online with Viator. Being a private tour was a great bonus and our tour guide Javier was highly knowledgeable and very informative, I would highly recommend requesting Javier Tapia if you plan to take this day trip.
