Fátima Batalha Alcobaça and Óbidos Full Day Private Tour from Lisbon in Shuttle
Your driver will pick you up from your Lisbon hotel and transport you to Fátima, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world. Visit the site where Our Lady of Fátima appeared to the three shepherd children in 1917. Continue to the Basilica, which houses the burial sites of Francisco, Jacinta Marto, and Lúcia. See the Igreja da Santíssima Trindade (Church of the Holy Trinity), Portugal’s largest Catholic sanctuary, as well as the Capela das Aparições (Chapel of the Apparitions).
Continue to Batalha, and take in its bucolic scenery. Visit the Monastery, a World Heritage site that celebrates the Battle of Aljubarrota and offers one of the country’s best examples of Gothic architecture. Note the traces of Manueline architecture interwoven. Enjoy the warm hospitality characteristic of this coastal area. We recommend stopping at Alcobaça Monastery, one of the most visited and well-preserved monuments in the country. Here you can visit the tombs of Prince Pedro and Inês de Castro, tributes to a great Portuguese romantic tragedy.
After lunch, head to Óbidos, a town of queens until 1883. See the romantic and picturesque setting that has endured throughout the centuries. With the sunset at your back, bid farewell and head back to Lisbon and your hotel.
