-Kitano Tenmangu Shrine

An important shrine that is dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, a scholar and politician who was unfairly exiled. It is said that after his exile his spirit cause number of disaster, to appease him many shrines were built. At this area there is a one and only kind of cherry blossom that blooms here. This old cherry blossom tree is said to be 120 years old, and its the only sakura in the world that turns white to pink. 
-Haradani-en 

Haradani-en is a privately owned garden covering 13,000 square meters with a variety of cherry trees, this spot is also a great place to view cherry blossoms because not many people goes to this area. 

Located at a steep hill above Kinkakuji Temple, however with the bus you can sit and relax while going up this hill.
