Fantastic guide Adrian, knowledgeable, friendly and some good humour, he made the day. Attractions all worthwhile. A good way to pack a lot in 1 day.

Guide spoke only but a couple words in English was not interactive and kept messing up the return schedules to bus but we got to see all. Good for a 1 day see all experience in Kioto

First was Kinkaku-ji, the famous golden pavilion. Lovely in the sunlight. We didn’t have much time as we were on a tour (but it was enough), but it was great to see it. Then we were off to Arashiyama, the bamboo grove. It was pretty crowded, but the grove was so impressive with all the trees. While the rest of the group was wandering around in their free time, we took time to visit the Tenryuji Temple next to the grove on our own. In fact, I would have loved to explore the temple more, too. We had a quick lunch on our own (lots of places to eat in the town next to the grove) because we were so busy looking at cherry blossoms and just wandering through the gardens/hillside. Next it was to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha, which we had already seen the day before. A good thing, too, as it started raining hard. It was so cold and wet, and we would have been miserable if we were outside touring the groves but we just sat inside and relaxed. But it shouldn't be missed as it's a gorgeous shrine. Then it was off the Nara to see cherry blossoms and the famous Nara deer. They were very persistent in trying to get fed. It rained hard for a while but there was a beautiful rainbow at the end. We didn’t have time to visit the temple there since my daughter insisted that feeding the deer was more important, but it looked impressive from the outside. I was there with my 2 adult daughters.

It was great except i took wrong street from bathroom at Temple and when i realised i emailed the guide who ADRIAN who was not helpful and told me to find a rail station and go back so i missed NARA which was my whole purpose for the tour. He could have explained that i could take the train to Nara and meet them there but didn’t and so i wasted the afternoon. It was not easy as no one spoke English or had street signs but i found the train station eventually.

We found several tours similar to this one but this was the most competitively priced. There was plenty of opportunity to walk around the various sites and our guide was quite flexible in what we did. The only downside is that we ran consistently late due to traffic and the late arrival of people at each of the stops. This resulted in only having 35 minutes at Nara, our final destination. Overall, we felt that this tour was a very good value.
