Sobre esta atividade
After pickup from your Kuala Lumpur hotel in the morning, take a 1-hour drive to Port Klang, where you’ll board a ferry to Pulau Ketam, which is translated as Crab Island.
You’ll spend your morning exploring this quaint fishing village by foot to discover the simple lifestyle of Malaysian locals compared to residents of the big city. Pulau Ketam offers a unique view of the busy harbor and the mangrove swamps of nearby islands, and is unique because the entire village is built on stilts!
Your guide will tell you about the history of this rustic village, which remains unchanged despite the flow of tourists. Pass by locals relaxing on their front porches and see fishermen going about their daily tasks such as peeling shrimp to be used in the local restaurants – not surprisingly, this place is famous for its seafood, especially its crab. You’ll also pass by some colorful Chinese temples, some of which are fronted by statues of sea animals such as shrimp and fish.
Pop into a local restaurant to enjoy lunch (at own expense), letting you taste the authentic flavors and flairs of this local Malaysian town. Then, catch the ferry back to Port Klang and hop back on the coach for a brief sightseeing tour.
Drive by fabulous Palace of the Sultan of Selangor, followed by a stop outside Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque. Occupying nearly 36 acres (15 hectares), this is the country's largest mosque and the second-largest mosque in Southeast Asia.
Your last stop is Thean Hou Temple, one of the largest Chinese temples in Southeast Asia. Enter the temple and see the elaborate murals and decorative embellishments, giving you a glimpse into Chinese artistic traditions.
After exploring this incredible temple, you’ll be driven back to your Kuala Lumpur hotel.

Long day getting out to Crab Island, though a very interesting place to see the way the people live, but not the best way to spend your time in KL, especially if your time there is limited. If you have extra time to spend, then yes, I'd recommend. All the other sites our guide brought us too though were very interesting and we enjoyed.
We really enjoyed this day with a fun and friendly and informative guidelines. We really enjoyed our visit to the Blue Mosque, seeing Port Klang and our time at the fishing village. We could have done with more time at Ketam.
It was an interesting trip with stops at the Temple and the Blue Mosque, which was a nice surprise since it wasn't listed in the posting. The lunch at Pulau Ketam was delicious but we had to pay extra for the crab. Considering it's a Crab Island tour one would think that would naturally be on the menu. It's a neat day trip from KL.
Tour was interesting, the tour guide was ok as well. But my suggestion is for him to talk about the tour and be more informative about the sights. He tended to speak about himself and his old career. He told many jokes that could be insulting to some people. Overall a tour worth doing.
Excellen! The guide Ben Soo was magnific. Thanks
