Small-Group Classic Canal Cruise on Salonboat in Amsterdam

The weather was bad but the entertainment was great. The guide was excellent and made everything interesting. A thoroughly enjoyable tour which I would recommend to anyone.

What a fun way to see Amsterdam! My husband and I brought our 18 year old triplets on a "one-last-paid-by-parents-trip" to Europe and we started off in Amsterdam and this was our first excursion. We had a really fun time learning the history of Amsterdam and seeing the city this way! If you are considering this excursion...do it! You won't be disappointed!

My only complaint about this cruise was that the maximum number of people were on board and it was quite crowded and cramped. The driver said they usually don't have that many people. Otherwise the driver was very informative and entertaining. I would recommend this cruise to first-timers in Amsterdam.

What a wonderful experience we had on the canal cruise, very informative and enjoyable, would highly recommend going on this one, much better than the larger group ones, smaller group for more one on one information.

The classic Salonboat was in gorgeous condition. While built in the 1930's, it has been retrofitted with new electric propulsion. The boat arrived at the appointed pier on schedule. The tour took us through a number of the waterways so we could see how Amsterdam had grown through the ages. The Captain/guide provided a nice explanatory discussion of the layout of Amsterdam prior to the cruise. Complimentary coffee and tea were available. The tour lasted just about 1.5 hours. What a relaxing way to see the city.

We had high expectations for this cruise and we were not disappointed. Our Captain, Jan(sp) was also our tour guide. He was full of interesting information and presented it in an entertaining fashion. Fortunately for us, his English is excellent. This tour gave us a perfect first look at Amsterdam. I would heartily recommend the tour to anyone, including families with small children, Incidentally, the dock which was our beginning and ending point is conveniently located, just a few minutes from the Amsterdam Flower Market.

Our your Gide was so very funny and kind. There was not as much history about the canals as I would like but the guide was so cute!

Excellent tour of Amsterdam. Sjourt was an amazing captain and guide. He made the trip so interesting and gave us information on Amsterdam and Holland that we never knew. Highly recommended - great way to spend an hour and a half!! Would definitely take this trip when again in Amsterdam!
